PHOTO ESSAYS

Having spent my childhood summers in the Laurentians, it’s no wonder that I should love the outdoors
and be attracted to wildlife biology in my formal education.
Neither is it surprising that I would always have a camera in hand,
as both interests demand a keen sense of observation.

Here is where I get the chance to show off what catches my eye, provokes my imagination and allows me to express my creativity.
I also love to write, so don’t rush away without taking a peak at my Blog musings.

Bolivia - Places

To truly appreciate everything around us, we need to be in the moment. We hear that phrase often enough, but what does it mean? It's simple; stop, listen, watch and soak it in. Here are some wonderful photographs of places I encountered during my 2011 CUSO International Volunteer Posting to Bolivia.

Benches v1

I've been working on a project and this is a small sampling of some of the images of Benches that I've recently photographed. My initial thoughts were to use the benches to illustrate their function as a place to relax, converse and observe. Ideally I would want people in some if not all of them, but the whole issue surrounding Privacy concerns me, not only from a legal perspective but also not wanting to intrude.

Islamic Foundation of Toronto

Doors Open Toronto provides a precious opportunity for all of us to poke our curious eyes into buildings that are either off limits because of their function or because we don't otherwise feel like intruding. Always, meaning to stop and wonder around this particular mosque, I no longer had an excuse not to.

Tall Ships

Toronto, like many major cities around the world, lies on the shores of a large body of water. Lake Ontario, the smallest of the Great Lakes shares it's name with Canada's most populated province, Ontario, of which Toronto is the capital. These inland, fresh water seas, provide for wonderful recreational opportunities. Sailing is but one, but a significant one it is.
